The story of The Highlanders’ continues with the single-minded ambition of one man. In 1793 Alan Cameron of Erracht raised a regiment to fight the French. Known as the 79th Cameron Highlanders, it gained a high reputation in the Napoleonic Wars. The regiment would later earn special favour with Queen Victoria.
