While the Seaforths and Camerons built their reputations abroad fighting various colonial wars and depending the Empire, the Highlands still needed to be defended.
The threats came from invasion and occasionally, from domestic unrest. Therefore the military manpower of the Highlands had to be tapped in other ways.
This room displays some of the uniforms worn and tells the story of these local volunteers.
