the regiment stayed in Brunei and North Borneo until 1963. Between 1971 and 1993, the Queen\u2019s Own Highlanders completed eight tours of duty in Northern Ireland; sadly, the regiment lost seven troops during The Troubles. Stationed in the Falkland Islands after the conflict of 1982, the regiment was awarded the Wilkinson Sword of Peace for its contribution to community relations. The Highlanders\u2019 Museum collection represents the dynamic history of the Queen\u2019s Own Highlanders and their travels all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>This oil painting by E Kelbett was painted in 1980.
